Knit & Stitch with Angela

Mondays | 3:30-5:00 p.m.
January 11, 18 & 25, 2027
Gib Gray Room

Do you knit or crochet? Come join us! This January, Angela will bring together seniors and young people for three relaxed afternoons of knitting, crocheting and conversation.

SENIORS:

If you enjoy sharing your skills, there may be opportunities to help a young person learn a stitch or get started on a project. But there's absolutely no pressure to teach. If you simply want to bring your own project and enjoy being part of a knitting group, that's perfect too. Engage as much or as little as feels comfortable.  And if you have a grandchild or another young person in your life who might enjoy joining you, bring them along too. The goal is simply to spend time together, share a skill if you’d like, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon of making and conversation.

YOUTH:

New Year, New Skill! Youth are invited to learn a new skill while making a meaningful difference in our community! Learn the fundamentals of knitting while creating handmade items to donate to those in need. This is a great opportunity to try something new, build confidence, and contribute to a project that brings warmth and care to others. Volunteer hours are available for the time spent learning, creating, and practicing. Youth can record hours from workshop sessions, with additional hours available for practicing at home or creating more items outside of the program.

DONATE SUPPLIES:

Some supplies will be available, but if you have needles, crochet hooks or wool/yarn, please bring them along. No longer knitting but have supplies tucked away at home? We'd be delighted to put them to use with our young people - please reach out to Angela at youth@rosedaleunited.org about donating them.
