Volunteer with Us!

Our community relies on volunteers to help bring programs, events and outreach activities to life throughout the year. Opportunities range from food preparation and meal service, community programs and special events, to hospitality, intergenerational activities, seasonal outreach and one-time projects. You might make sandwiches or soup, help at Holly Berry Fair, support Seniors Day, assist with a community meal, welcome people at an event, or lend a hand with projects like our Christmas Pageant, Easter Egg Hunt, hampers and coat drives.

High school students are welcome! Many of our volunteer opportunities are suitable for students and eligible hours can count toward Ontario secondary school community involvement requirements.

Sandwich Making — Monthly
Join us each month to prepare sandwiches for community outreach. No special skills are required — just willing hands and a little time to work alongside others. A great hands-on opportunity for adults, families and youth.
Soup Making — Ongoing
Come spend some time in the kitchen helping prepare homemade soup for our community outreach programs. Chop, stir, prep and enjoy working together — no cooking expertise required.
Seniors Day Tech Support — Ongoing
Comfortable helping someone with a phone, tablet or laptop? Volunteer alongside our Seniors Day Tech Talk program to provide friendly, one-on-one help with basic technology questions. You don’t need to be an IT expert — patience, curiosity and a willingness to help are what matter most.
Holly Berry Fair — November 21 & 22
It takes a lot of volunteers to bring our annual Holly Berry Fair to life! Help before, during or after the Fair with everything from welcoming guests and supporting Santa’s Workshop to books and thrift, food service, set-up and more. There are lots of different jobs for adults and youth, making this one of our biggest volunteer opportunities of the year.
Knit & Stitch — January 11, 18 & 25
Knitters and crocheters are invited to join our intergenerational Knit & Stitch gatherings. Items will be donated to communities in need.  Youth Volunteer Form.  Seniors Sign-up Form.
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Making — February 9
Help us prepare pancakes and all the fixings for our Shrove Tuesday community dinner. Whether you’re mixing batter, flipping pancakes, setting up or helping serve, it’s a fun, hands-on way to help make this annual gathering happen.
Doors Open Toronto — May 29 & 30
Help us welcome visitors during Doors Open Toronto. Volunteers assist with greeting, directions, hospitality and helping guests explore and learn more about our historic building.
Looking for Something Else?  We’re always interested in hearing from people who would like to contribute their time, experience or talents. If none of the opportunities above is quite right — or you’d simply like us to keep you in mind when something new comes up — complete our Volunteer Interest Form and tell us how you’d like to get involved.
