Interfaith Outreach

At Rosedale United Church, we believe that building relationships across faiths, cultures, and communities is an important part of creating a more compassionate, inclusive, and peaceful society.

Through Interfaith Outreach, we seek to foster understanding, respect, and meaningful dialogue among people of different faith traditions and backgrounds. We believe that learning from one another's experiences helps create stronger communities and deeper human connections.

This commitment extends beyond special events. Throughout the year, our ministry team incorporates learning opportunities, reflections, and messages of support that recognize the diverse faith communities that enrich Toronto. We strive to create opportunities for connection, understanding, and solidarity, particularly during times when communities may experience discrimination, misunderstanding, or fear.

The Interfaith Bridge Event

At a recent event in partnership with The Interfaith Bridge, we brought members of the Jewish community and their allies together to share personal stories, deepen understanding, and explore ways to respond to the rise of antisemitism through friendship, education, and dialogue.

Following the event, members of The Interfaith Bridge reflected that they felt "welcomed, supported, encouraged, and embraced as partners in this important work." They spoke of the friendships that have emerged through these relationships and observed that "real change happens when people choose to stand together."

For our congregation, the event was a meaningful example of interfaith outreach in action—standing alongside our Jewish neighbours while building relationships rooted in mutual respect, understanding, and a shared commitment to creating communities where all people can practise their faith freely and feel a true sense of belonging.
