Laurie Lyle
Laurie Lyle joined Rosedale United Church and The Rosedale Centre as Executive Director in September 2024. She leads the strategic and day-to-day operations of both the Church and Centre, working closely with the Lead Minister, Board, staff and volunteers to strengthen Rosedale as a thriving spiritual and community hub.
Since joining Rosedale, Laurie has focused on building the people, systems and infrastructure needed to support sustainable growth. Her work includes strengthening staff and operational processes, financial oversight and planning, modernizing technology and administrative systems, growing rentals and revenue, expanding programs and community partnerships, and increasing Rosedale’s visibility and engagement within the wider community. She also works closely with the Board and leadership team on long-term planning, facility improvements and new opportunities that support Rosedale’s future as a Centre for Human Flourishing.
A particular focus of Laurie’s role is the continued development of The Rosedale Centre — creating opportunities for people to connect through music, the arts, learning, wellness, events and community programming, while making greater use of Rosedale’s beautiful and historic building.
Laurie brings more than 30 years of experience working with charities, non-profit organizations and member-based organizations. Previous roles have included operations, strategic planning, governance, marketing, communications, events and community engagement. Before joining Rosedale, she served as Manager of Operations at Islington United Church. Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles with the Retail Council of Canada, York University and the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association. She has also taught event management, marketing and sponsorship through York University’s School of Continuing Studies. Throughout her career, Laurie has been particularly drawn to organizations focused on community, growth and creating opportunities for people to connect.
Originally from St. Andrews, Manitoba, Laurie was baptized and began attending church at Little Britain United Church in Lockport, Manitoba. She has a lifelong passion for the arts, sports and Kiwanis, where she has been a member for more than 10 years and through which she met her husband. Frank and Laurie were married at Islington United Church in 2024. Laurie is also the proud mother of two sons, William and Henry.
