Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Rosedale United Church would be honoured to be part of your celebration. Whether you are envisioning a large formal ceremony or something smaller and more intimate, our historic sanctuary and experienced team can provide the perfect setting to begin your life together.
Our sanctuary space is stunning! It is a space designed for meaning, joy, and community. Sunlight spills through the stained glass windows. The atmosphere is serene and sacred. Our aisle is the perfect runway for your life together. Rosedale weddings are thoughtfully planned and deeply personal. Our team will be here to support you every step of the way.
Rosedale’s sanctuary has permanent seating for 320 guests, which includes pews (balcony seating included) and two rows of interlocking chairs at the front. We can accommodate a maximum of 400 guests by adding temporary chairs at the back of the sanctuary.
Our building is fully accessible, with a lift that connects all levels of the church. Street parking in the neighbourhood is ample.
We welcome wedding bookings at any stage of your planning, whether it be one month away, one year away, or more! As soon as you have a date in mind, we encourage you to reach out. While our sanctuary can host more than one wedding in a day, early booking will help secure your preferred time. To check availability, arrange a tour, or start the booking process, you can contact us at churchoffice@rosedaleunited.
To confirm your date, a 50% deposit will be required. Once your date is confirmed, you will meet with one of our ministers and be introduced to our director of music to begin shaping a ceremony that will reflect your love story.
Our all-inclusive wedding package is $2,200 and is designed to make your day beautiful and stress-free. It includes:
A consultation with a minister
Music planning with our director of music
A rehearsal prior to the wedding
A 3-hour sanctuary booking
Use of the Gib Gray Room for the wedding party to gather before the ceremony
Minister, musician, and audio-visual support for the service
Ceremony timeline (example):
1 hour before the service: decorating and preparations
30 minutes before the service: wedding party ready to greet guests
1 hour service (approximate)
1 hour afterward: photos in the sanctuary
Optional extras: Live streaming can be booked in advance for an additional charge. We will also offer a variety of other spaces within the church that can be added to your booking—ideal for getting ready (hair, makeup, dressing), hosting a rehearsal dinner, or celebrating with guests at a post-wedding reception.
Rosedale United Church has ordained ministers on staff who are experienced in officiating weddings with warmth, dignity, and care. If you are part of another faith tradition and wish to include your own minister, we will be happy to welcome guest clergy under the direction of a Rosedale minister, in keeping with United Church of Canada practice.
Our clergy will work closely with you to craft a ceremony that will reflect your values and your story, using language that will feel meaningful to you. Whether you are deeply rooted in faith or simply seeking a spiritual space to honour your love, we will meet you where you are.
The wedding license must be purchased less than three months in advance of your wedding date. To find your nearest marriage license office, and to fill out your application, click here. Then, you take that application to city hall.
Currently, only one person needs to go into city hall with the appropriate paperwork and identification of both individuals. Please confirm with your city hall for their individual requirements.
You will need to bring your completed marriage license to your rehearsal.
Rosedale United Church is a proud Affirming congregation. We welcome couples of all sexual orientations and gender identities to be married here, and to feel truly celebrated and supported in our community.
You do not need to be a member of Rosedale United Church to be married here. You do not need to be Christian. And we are happy to perform second marriages. What matters most is that you seek to honour love, commitment, and the sacredness of this moment in your life.
Music is one of the most meaningful parts of your wedding, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Our director of music, or one of thier colleagues, will be delighted to provide the organ and piano music for your ceremony. Couples are encouraged to begin planning music selections well in advance of the wedding. We can also arrange for a special soloist or other instrumental performances for an additional fee.
We also understand that many couples wish to include recorded music. Our team is happy to coordinate this seamlessly with your service. In addition, live streaming of your ceremony is available for an additional charge when booked in advance. This allows loved ones near and far to be able to share in your special day.
You are welcome to decorate the sanctuary in a way that will reflect your style. Floral arrangements, aisle décor, and simple accents will all enhance the natural beauty of the space. Decorations may be brought in 1 hour before the service.
For the care of our historic building and grounds, we will not permit confetti, rice, or other items to be thrown either inside or outside the church. These can cause damage to the property and create safety hazards for guests and outdoor creatures.
We know the importance of capturing the moment in stills and video. Professional photographers will be allowed to take pictures during the service. Videographers will be asked to set up in a place approved by the minister. Our priority will be to ensure the couple and congregation can fully experience the service. If you have questions about how videographers can record your ceremony, we will be happy to help.
A rehearsal will be scheduled in consultation with your officiating minister. Typically held on Fridays at 5:30 p.m. for one hour, rehearsals will include the wedding party and parents so everyone is prepared and confident of the order to service for the big day.
Our minister is available to offer support both before and after your wedding day. We hope you will also consider us for other major life events, including baptisms. And of course, we would be delighted to have you join us in worship on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m.
