Taking place from 6:30-8:30 PM on Mondays May 4 and May 11, this two-session workshop at the Rosedale Centre invites artists of all abilities to explore the art of floral abstraction with Canadian artist and art therapy practitioner Catherine Cameron. Participants will be introduced to Catherine’s techniques and creative processes in a relaxed, supportive, and engaging environment.
No prior experience is required. Participants are encouraged to bring a smock or wear clothing they are comfortable getting paint on — painting can be delightfully messy.
Through demonstrations, skill-building, and shared studio time, participants will create individual artworks on artist-quality canvases. The first two-hour session will focus on painting and creative exploration. The second session will be dedicated to completing works and may include finishing techniques, signing, and writing a short artist bio, similar to professional studio practice.
Each participant will have the opportunity to present their piece to the group and may also have the opportunity to participate in a group exhibition at The Rosedale Centre (to be confirmed).
To ensure a high-quality experience, this program requires a minimum of six participants, with spaces limited.
