The Youth Impact Grant is given each year to youth in our community who are enacting change in the world.
The Project Love Mural was unveiled at Marc Garneau C I. More than 40 students from the Gender & Sexuality Alliance Club and Art Council have been working on this 12’x4’ ceramic and glass mosaic work of art since September 2019. It is now a permanent installation in one of the main corridors within the school. Homophobia, transphobia and transmisogyny can be a big problem at some TDSB schools. Students who identify as queer or trans often don’t feel welcome in their learning environments. This mosaic will serve as a permanent and very visible statement of acceptance and inclusion within the school. We are so very proud of the students and staff involved in the GSA Club, and they are very grateful for our support through the Youth Impact Grant.
