Soprano Susan Suchard is a native of London, Ontario. She holds a BMus from Western University and an MMus Performance (Vocal Pedagogy) from the University of Toronto.
A seasoned professional chorister, Susan has deep roots within the choral music community in and around Toronto.
She teaches private voice lessons from her studio at Trinity-St. Paul’s in downtown Toronto, where her students also engage in regular studio classes and recitals.
As a conductor/teacher, Susan conducted the Preparatory Chorus of the VIVA Singers of Toronto from 2000 to June 2020. She conducted the Northern Ontario tour of Elijah’s Kite and performances of Sanctuary Song for Tapestry Opera. For Jumblies Theatre, she conducted Juliet Palmer’s Like an Old Tale. She was an Artist Educator for the Canadian Opera Company and a music teacher in the public school system.
As an arts administrator, Susan was General Manager of VIVA Singer of Toronto and Managing Editor of Opera Canada magazine.
